Well, I think that's it. We're done. Thanks so much to everyone who posted here, but I think DSF has lived out it's life. We were never that popular and as much as I would have liked to see us get a whole bunch of members and everything, that's what FictionPress and Fanfiction.net are for, right? Anyway, thanks again and goodbye. I'll still check back here every now and again but I'm closing joining. If you really need me and don't know where else to find me (destinydarkness.deviantart.com, amaravati.smackjeeves.com, angelwings.smackjeeves.com...hint hint xD) leave a message in the C-box and I'll get back to you when I check it.... which may not be until months later.

As you may have noticed by now, the header has been updated and I mentioned upcoming contests. Whoopie! There's gonna be epic entries, and epic-er prizes and people are gonna be so psyched and...... wait.
What do you guys want?
I know what I want: I want to do an advertising contest, and I want to do some kind of finish-the-story contest. I want to do more, but my ideas kinda ran dry a minute ago. Help! Also, what do you want for prizes? I don't want to give away mod positions or anything, though there are a couple of you who I'm starting to think deserve it(keep it up and you'll know who you are soon, methinks ). So.... what do you want? I could do art.... little graphic-type things..... a fanfic of one of your stories? Character sketches? Do we want a Spotlight for the people who win and their work?
If you have any ideas, any at all, contests or prizes, post them here. Don't worry about silly ideas 'cause anything might lead to what will become the motherload of prizes; just start bouncing ideas around and let's talk it over, shall we? I'm also open to offers of prizes. Just keep in mind that stuff like money and real-world items don't work and if something goes wrong with them I could get in big trouble ^^; With that said.....

Haha well I'm with you on the whole graphics/art/fanfic deal acting as rewards; I can't really think of much else other than that. Maybe some graphics dedicated to one of the person's stories or something.
As far as contests go, I've got a little idea xD
No Typo contest!
Set an amount of pages, give us a topic, and we all have to write something witty without proofreading at all. Then, after everyone's posted theirs, whoever writes the most without a typo/grammatical error/etc wins =P Of course, it might not be the best idea considering it's easy to cheat, but still.

That's a good idea for a contest =3 But what about judging? If we can find someone to judge, it would be no problem. I think everyone here would respect the honor system and not cheat, but judging would be the hard part.

I think it'll be easier finding a judge when we get more people on the website. Like, say if there's someone who doesn't feel like participating; he/she can judge by reading the passages a couple times to find the typos and whatnot. It would be nice to have more than one, but we'll see. =P

Nicest person? Heehee that could be fun as a mini-contest. We could have a thread where all the participants reply with their nicest, most sickeningly sweet polite answers to questions and at the end everyone votes on their fav. The winner would get a prize of "whatever we decide on beforehand". lol I can hear all the Victorian era, boring-ass conversations now xD

I have some random contest ideas... emphasis on the 'random'...
Number One! What about some kind of a mad-lib contest? I'll just trust that you guys remember what mad-libs are... Anyways, someone could come up with a short little random story, with words missing. Then make a post with the blanks that are needed. But, they wouldn't post the story at first, since, even though I'm sure no one here would do it, some people purposely put words in there that would be funny. Anyways, so they make a post with like:
Ect... Or something like that. Then after everyone filled out the blanks, the story is posted, and people add their words to the story, and see who has the best, funniest, randomest...ect XD So there is one random idea
Number 2! Okay, this is the ultimate random. (I like that word tonight) So, on another site, my friend came up with this fun crazy idea. She was eating toast, and wanted to see how other people ate their toast. Stuff led to stuff, and finally, this emerged. A toast sculpting contest! There were limitations on how many pieces you could use, and condiments. XD Seriously, some people came up with really intense toast. (They just take a picture or two and post them)
Number 3! Finally, a normal contest =) Photography? You could give some topics or something, such as flowers, people, animals, sky's, books, ect... Whoever takes the best wins? XD Pretty simple. You could give out all kinds of different awards for that one, like members choice. Have members vote and see which one they like?
That's all I can think of...
Judging would be hard though, you could maybe rotate judges? Some people may be bad at drawing or graphics, but really enjoy looking at them. Since they wouldn't want to compete, you could make one or two of them judges. ^ ^ edit -- well, I'm dumb XD Fox, you said something about that earlier... my bad... ^ ^
Prizes? I've seen sites make tiny banners that people can put in their siggies... like "Finish-Story Contest! 2009! First Place!" XD -Personal Titles -Make a whole new member group just for winners? -Personal Name Colours -Karma If you're really shooting for something great, once we get a lot of members, you could have a BIG story contest. You could get permission from some author somewhere, and have the winner be able to send the author some chapters for critiquing. =) That would be cool, and not hard to do, just maybe wouldn't work. Something to try for anyways though, nothing to loose =)

Those are some fab ideas, Bee-chan =D The idea of mini-banners for prizes is pretty good, I'll probably end up using that. ^^ I like the idea of a photography contest too =3 Heehee toast pics are sure to be epic to the max! hahaha We'd have to wait until we got more members, though..... Anywho, glad to finally hear from you! xD heeheehee
Agreed! Members are needed..... I'll start advertising later today - you guys get moving too, kay? lol just make sure no one else has advertised for us on the sites you choose I hate double ads.... *snarl*
