Welcome to Dreamscape Fables! DSF is a community for writers of all skill levels to post their work for critique and helpful hints. We're open to short and long narratives, fanfictions, poetry, and roleplaying; people can also be found hanging out in the various chat boards.

Well, I think that's it. We're done. Thanks so much to everyone who posted here, but I think DSF has lived out it's life. We were never that popular and as much as I would have liked to see us get a whole bunch of members and everything, that's what FictionPress and Fanfiction.net are for, right? Anyway, thanks again and goodbye. I'll still check back here every now and again but I'm closing joining. If you really need me and don't know where else to find me (destinydarkness.deviantart.com, amaravati.smackjeeves.com, angelwings.smackjeeves.com...hint hint xD) leave a message in the C-box and I'll get back to you when I check it.... which may not be until months later.
Goodbye DSF. Maybe one day we'll return to ressurect you a second time.

K I S A M E

It'll be easy, so easy, dude, don't worry about it!
Note: Don't ever listen to Hidan.
Kisame hadn't even been assigned a mission. All he wanted to do was go to Konaha and escape the criminal life for a little while. Such a strange thing for one so sadist to want, but for so long of constantly being weighed with the fact you were a S-Ranked criminal, it wasn't that adsurd of an idea. Leader had even granted him a three-day weekend, so the whole adventure was just becoming more and more apealing. He could loose that hot, sweaty Akatsuki cloak, replace it with a nice, mens kimono, even attempt the festival that would be happening on Saturday. Wonderful, wonderful, huzzah! Konoha was now listed in his "Hate Book".

It all started at the gates. He was about to simple stroll through when six ANBU stopped him, dragged him to the side, and searched him. They took his precious Samehada, claiming they would give it back when he left. Despite that, he had to write a frickin' essay on why he was in Konoha, how long he'd be in Konoha, and again what his purpose in Konoha happened to be. After all that, you think he'd be let through the gate without hassle. Oh, no. He got through the gate alright, only to still be outside Konoha, being dragged by a stupid little brat that claimed he was the deceased Hokage's grandchild. Infuirated, but being somewhat a gentlemen, Kisame decided not to kill him, only toss him around a bit, then sending him off back to where he came from, only to be encountered by more ANBU. More searching, more eassays, oh my God, when would it end?

Now here he was, standing outside the Hokage building, sight-seeing and munching on a rather delicous dango. He was still basking in the fact that he wasn't wearing that ill-fitting Akatsuki cloak, which he couldn't get over for the reason he'd been wearing it for five or so years straight. Itachi was gone, meaning he wouldn't have the pestering weasel nagging him all day and acting like he was better than everyone else, AND, they were closer to catching the final bijuu, the ninth, then ever before. Times were good, just like the dango.
He now actually appreciated Itachi for introducing him to the dango.

The day was Friday, the festival would be Saturday, and he would start his trek back on Monday. Criminal times were slow, but be damned the one that risk being late on Pain's terms. Finishing the dango and flicking it somewhere to the left of himself, the shark strode over to Ichiraku Ramen, ordered the largest, fishiest ramen they had, and began to munch.
"Now, all I need is some delicous Sake.. and maybe a curvy lady or two.."

ooc; yay, fixed the format! :D

A glimmer of sunlight on golden hair, a flash of black in broad daylight....To a casual passer-by these things meant nothing but to those who knew him it was a mark of death. However, the lone killer had that day decided to play it cool, under the radar, and walk among his greatest foes.

The sweet summer breeze brushed against his skinn, sending golden strands fluttering loose of the masses as if they had minds of their own.
"What a day," he murmured with a smile that held the barest trace of the icy chill within. "Seems I haven't been enjoying myself of late, hmm?"
Dressed as he was, in loose beige slacks and a black, artsy top and no trace of the headband that normally adorned his brow, few in the village that day would have recognized Deidara, but still he stayed low, keeping the mouths in his palms hidden from the world with fingerless gloves.
The village, normally a disliked place to all Akatsuki, was pleasant that day and he knew it could only become horrible to attract the attention of the Anbu.
However much I'd like to create some new art... he thought maliciously, envisioning burning buildings and rubble surrounding the great stone faces.

Walking down the main street, the blonde shinobi suddenly noticed a familliar voice on the airwaves. Stopping to listen, he chuckled and sauntered into Ichiraku Ramen to sling an arm around Kisame's neck and sit down beside him.
"Hey Kisame. Great minds think alike, aparently." he crowed, grinning. "What brings you here today of all days, hmmm?"

Complete
Character: Deidara
Words: 264
Notes: Yeah, I know....it's pathetically short ^^; I'm out of practice RPing shinobi....lolz especially ones that are out of their element. ....which is really odd since the fanfiction is going really, really well xD

K I S A M E

The ramen was set upon the counter gently, the bar keep nooding nervously and rushing away as the shark nin tipped him. Gales of steam rose from the bowl of noodles, swathing a teasing his nose, drifting in and out his nostrils and setting along his forehead, mocking beads of sweat from such restraint. It took everything he had not to launch the bowl into his face and slurp it all. There were people watching, that WOULD be rather strange. Even for him. Two chopsticks hung heavy between the shark's fingers, it just all looked so good. Now, to take a delicous first bite of ---

BAM! A light yet forcful arm swung around Kisame's neck, wrapping around and gripping tightly in a friendly strangle. A smirk tipped his lips as the friendly, soft voice of the artist drifted through by his lobes, ringing in his cranium, reminding him that even bad guy's had friends.
"I guess so," He chuckled while he managed to save his ramen from falling to the floor, handling the scolding hot bowl gently and trying not to burn himself, "I'm here on.." He paused, looking to the floor then drifting to lock on Deidara's icy blue optics, "I'm on vacation." A bold, but bemused hunk of laughter lept from his lungs, a deadened fist slamming upon the bar as he laughed. Kisame on vacation. It just sounded so funny. Especially in all of the places, the Village Hidden in the Leaves. Insane.

Twisting in his stool, the Mist missing nin turned to look at his quirky friend, a brow raised as his laughter died. Kisame in Konoha wasn't completely unheard of, but he knew half the people in the Leaf Village hadn't even heard of Deidara. Deidara was all the way from Iwagakure, the Hidden Rock village, far north of Konoha and VERY far away from Fire Nation. Kisame was from the sadistic, undoubtly the most gruesome Hidden Mist village, from the Water Country, completey on the other side the world. Deidara and Kisame were from to different faces, but met in the Village of Rain, somewhat in the center, where the Akatsuki was located, and were now meeting once more in the center of the Earth. Konoha.

It was wierd how things happened that way.

Toying with his ruffled, cotton blue Kimono, Kisame stood, draining all the ramen in one slurp, then stretching his rather tense shoulders. He was around a foot and a half taller than Deidara, but he wasn't a giant, and wasn't a muscular as many people perseved when they saw him in his Akatsuki uniform. Sure, his biceps were huge and he was heluva in good shape; but that was just him, he didn't try. He didn't consider himself anything special. Even the fact that his skin was a light blue color and slight slits were located on his cheekbones. Nothing special.

Everyone perserves normal as a different way. Hell, a lot of folks would think Deidara was wierd. I mean, c'mon, look at the bottom of his hands! Looks were not supposed to be the deciding factor of ones normaltality, but again, what really was normal. What was it that drove us on everyday and carried us on with our daily lives? What really caused us to take another step into the sunlight; to fullfill what people told us and to love one another? It was what one perseived of themselves, how they thought, acted, believed. It was everything.

"Now, I have shared with you. But why, more interestingly, are you here, of today of all days?"

ooc; yeah, yeah... it sucks a *censored beep* but my muse died at the third paragraph, and was revived somewhere in between! I hope you enjoy, love.
